Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year. As Westside's new principal. I am proud to be the newest member of the Patriot family and the strong academic tradition that is associated with Westside. It is our responsibility to provide a safe environment with a caring atmosphere in which ALL students can and will learn while becoming respectful productive citizens. We believe in the power and importance of a quality education. Westside teachers and staff are committed to rigorous, high quality academics which include Honors and AP Curricula along with the Common Core Curriculum Standards as designated by the Georgia Department of Education and the Richmond County Board of Education. We are also dedicated to on-going professional development, extensive and effective use of data to improve teaching and learning, personalized college-planning and preparation, and work that supports this philosophy.
Westside High School has a long history of excellence of academics as well as extra-curricular activities dating back to its beginnings in 1970. Our students continually participate in activities that have brought recognition and pride to the school and community through awards and competitions statewide, regionally and nationally. We pledge to continue to work hard to make our academic and extracurricular programs even stronger to ensure that our students are prepared for life beyond high school. Westside High School’s administration, teachers, and staff are committed and excited to work with your children. I encourage you to stay involved in your children's activities here at school. Contact the teachers, check the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus, attend school functions......students need involvement at the high school level as much or more than at other levels. Please contact the office if you have questions or concerns. We want this to be a great year.
