FEBRUARY PROCLAIMED BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH
According to Georgia Law, bullying is defined as any willful
attempt or threat to inflict injury on another person... or any intentional
display of force such as would give the victim reason to fear or expect
immediate bodily harm.
On February 1st, 2010, Mayor Deke Copenhaver
issued a proclamation that February 2010 will serve as Bullying Awareness
Prevention Month for the City of Augusta. Read the press release

The Curriculum and Instruction Division welcomes Mr. Andre Mountain, Teacher on Special Assignment-Social Studies K-12. Mr. Mountain will visit schools this week observing samples of student work in social studies and speaking with principals, instructional coaches and teachers about the up-coming Georgia Municipal Association Essay Contest, “ If I Were Mayor, I would...”. Essays are due March 5, 2010. Please join us in welcoming Andre Mountain to our schools.

FreeOnline ExPreSS (Exam Preparation for Science and Social Studies) will be offered by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) online to all high school students and certificate of attendance recipients who were unsuccessful on or who have not yet taken the Science and/or Social Studies Georgia High School Graduation Test. It will offer self-paced units based on the instructional plans created for the summer ExPreSS Program.
