Congratulations to all Laney students who participated in the Augusta Area High School High Tech Award Luncheon!
What is it?
The Augusta Area High School High tech program is a community based program consisting of non-profit organizations, community organizations, state government agencies, school systems, post-secondary schools and the private sector working together to provide seamless services for students with disabilities in our local communities. These partners work closely together to identify and provide needed services for students with disabilities that will help them succeed. The program started in 2004 with 4 students in the Richomnd County school system. This year, there are over 280 participants from Burke, Columbia, McDuffie, Richmond, and Wilkes County.
Each student had to complete several rounds of applications as well as write an essay.
Congratulations to Lucy C. Laney Students:
Tyler Turner was a guest speaker at the luncheon and all students received recognition and new personal laptop computers.
Special Thanks to Ms. Phillips and Ms. Greenwood for sponsoring this event at Laney and working with all of our participants to provide support and encouragement.
