In Richmond County, we place student learning above all else. During Distance Learning Days, our students will continue to receive quality instruction by completing assignments that teachers provide. Students should follow the guidance and direction of their teachers. In addition, the Teaching and Learning Department has put forth the instructional plans below to continue to prepare your child for academic success. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher through email or contact us at DistanceLearning@rcboe.org. We thank you in advance for partnering with us as we continue to prioritize student learning.

    Distance Learning FAQ's

Q: Who do I contact if I have questions about my child’s distance learning assignments?

A: Parents should contact their child’s teacher if they have any questions about the assignment or need assistance. The teacher should be the first point of contact for all questions.

Q: What should I do if I need technical assistance?

A: Contact your child’s teacher and describe the problem. The teacher will then submit a work order ticket to the Informational Technology department for assistance. If there is a problem with the software or online program, we will work to troubleshoot a solution.

Q: How long should my child study and work each day?

A: During distance learning, we recommend creating a daily schedule. Follow the recommendation from your child’s teacher, but try to balance work, exercise, and play. Alternate activities throughout the day to avoid spending too much time with technology. Visit our Distance Learning Parent Resource page for sample daily schedules and activity ideas.

Q: Will my child receive a grade for work completed during Distance Learning Days?

A: Follow the guidance given to you from your child’s teacher. If you are unsure, reach out to your child’s teacher or school principal.

Q: What should I do if I do not have access to online resources?

A: Many of our teachers provided print resources for our students. There are many opportunities for involvement beyond our online resources. If you are concerned, please contact your child’s teacher for additional ideas. When possible, have your student read and discuss the story with you
