Foundations of Secure Information Systems (Course: 11.01100)

  • The Foundations of Secure Information Systems (MS-CS-FSIS) course is designed to provide 7th grade students with Foundational Skills, Computer Principles, Programming Principles, Network Principles, OSI Model, Cyber Security Principles, and Digital Citizenship.  Students will learn to use computers effectively in their lives, thus providing a connection of computer science and IT careers.  Students will explore how personality traits and personal values align with career choices.  Also, students’ personal, professional, and ethical standards of behavior for the workplace will be examined and reinforced in the classroom. Students who successfully complete this course will be prepared for the following pathways upon entering high school: Information Support & Services, Networking, and Cybersecurity.
