The English Language Arts Department is committed to the successful implementation of the RCK12 Curriculum incorporating the Georgia Standards of Excellence. This curriculum promotes high expectations for teachers and students which will result in meaningful student learning. All students have the opportunities and resources to develop the language skills they need to pursue life's goals and become life learners and productive citizens.The English language arts and reading curriculum focuses on reading of literary and informational text, reading across the curriculum, writing, listening, speaking, and viewing.

Are you interested in expanding your knowledge of reading instruction? Learn the foundations of reading as well as strategies to help all learners access high levels of literacy. We are currently accepting applications for a new Reading Endorsement Cohort for the 2018-2019 School year. Please complete the application and gather your letters of recommendation. The English Language Art Curriculum Writing Team designed two mini tasks for teachers to scaffold instruction. As a result, students should be prepared to independently complete each performance task.
