Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Mrs. Cox and I am very excited to be part of Richmond Hill K-8! I am thrilled to be your teacher and I’m looking forward to a year of learning and growth! I can’t wait to learn all about you but first I’ll tell you a little about me.
I was born in Statesboro, Georgia and I moved to Augusta in 2013. I received an associate’s degree in General Studies from East Georgia State College. Then, I attended college at Augusta University and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education. I am currently attending Augusta University for my masters in Middle Grades Instruction. I taught 7th grade Language Arts at Morgan Road Middle School. In addition, I am married with two boys, Dallas and Demetrius.
There is so much that I’m looking forward to this year teaching seventh and eighth grade Social Studies! Some of the topics we study are geography, history, economics, and government. For 8th grade, we are introducing the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) which I’m very excited about. We will also take virtual field trips for both grade levels. My favorite things to teach are writing and collaboration! We will do many writing and group projects. Below you find an overview of what this course will cover. I can’t wait to meet you and start the school year!
