• pencil      Welcome to AR Johnson Health-Sciences and Engineering Magnet School!  I am Ms. Legoas (pronounced Lego-us), and I am teaching 6th grade Earth Science and Study Skills this year. I will be teaching both the online students and the face-to-face students. I have been teaching for twenty-two years and have a Master's Degree in Education.  I have taught Pre-K, 1st-3rd grade, adult education, and middle school science, social studies, STEM Research, and computer technology.  In addition, I am the Georgia Science Teacher Association Middle School Director.  I am very excited to be  at AR Johnson teaching science in this beautiful school, and I know this will be a great year!
I have a 23 year old son who graduated from Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School and from Georgia Southern University. He is currently a reporter for the Augusta Chronicle.  In addition, I have a twin sister, Ms. Istre (East), who  teaches 8th grade science here at ARJ.   In my free time I enjoy music, art, auctions, shopping, and movies.
I truly believe that in order to give your child the best education possible, it takes a team approach.  The student, parents, and teacher must work together and communicate in order to provide the students with the best middle school experience possible.  So, if there is ever a question or concern, please email  me at legoado@BOE.Richmondk12.ga.us and I will respond as soon as possible.  Please be aware though that some days I may not check my email until the end of the day because my first priority is providing your child with the best education possible.  However, I assure you I will respond within 24 hours.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation, and I look forward to a great year as AR Johnson Panthers!
