  • Course Description

    This course is designed for students to make healthy life choices, develop health-related fitness, physical competence in movement, cognitive understanding, and positive attitudes toward health and  physical activity so that you can adopt healthy and physically active lifestyles.

    Course Outcomes
    Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
    - Demonstrate competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns
    - Apply knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics related to movement and performance
    - Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness
    - Exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others
    - Recognize the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction

    Grading

    The following will be used in the grading procedure:

    Projects 20%

    Tests 25%

    Quizzes 25%

    Class work 20%

    Homework 5%

    Participation 5%

    Grading Scale: A=90-100; B=80-89; C=75-79; D=70-74; F=below 70
