Statement of Non-Discrimination

Procedures are established and personnel appointed within the District to address student and parent concerns regarding non-discrimination. Website Accessibility Statement 

RCSS is committed to making information on its websites accessible for all individuals, including those with visual, hearing, or cognitive disabilities. The District strives to maintain accessibility as new technologies emerge. Sites are designed using guidelines from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and comply with Section 508 Federal Standards. This includes organizing HTML code for assistive technologies, providing text-based navigation, alternative text for images, and individual titles and headers for all web pages. 

Individuals requiring assistive technology or assistance accessing District or school websites should contact the RCSS Communications Department at communications@richmond.k12.ga.us, with “Accessibility” in the subject line. Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure equitable access to district and campus web resources. 

Some documents on District or school websites may be in Portable Document Format (PDF). Readers can use text conversion options in Adobe Acrobat Reader or similar programs for screen readers. Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website.

A. COPYRIGHT 
Unless otherwise indicated, materials (“Materials”) on RCSS websites or school web pages are the property of Richmond County School System and protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. This includes the compilation, selection, arrangement, and presentation of all Materials, overall website design, and any programs creating web page displays. 

Visitors are permitted to access and print Materials for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Any other copying, distribution, modification, transmission, or dissemination is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from the District. 

B. TRADEMARKS 
Unless otherwise indicated, the RCSS logo, approved wordmarks, school names, shields, athletics identities, and mottos are trademarks or service marks of RCSS and may not be used without prior written permission. All other trademarks or service marks on RCSS websites belong to their respective owners. 

C. LINKS TO EXTERNAL SITES 
RCSS websites may include links to external websites (“External Sites”). By using RCSS websites, you agree that RCSS: 

  1. Provides these links for convenience only; 

  1. Has no control over these External Sites; 

  1. Is not responsible for the availability of External Sites; and 

  1. Does not endorse or accept liability for content, products, or services on these External Sites. 

RCSS shall not be responsible for any error, damage, or loss caused by reliance on external content, goods, or services. 

D. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 
Visitors agree to indemnify and hold harmless the members of the Richmond County Board of Education, RCSS, its officers, employees, agents, successors, and assignees from any liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses arising from the use of RCSS technology. 

E. DISCLAIMER 
RCSS disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. RCSS does not guarantee that services or information provided through its technology are error-free. RCSS is not liable for indirect, special, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages. 

F. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT COMPLAINTS 
RCSS respects intellectual property. To report copyright infringement, submit the following to the RCSS Communications Officer: 

  1. Electronic or physical signature of the authorized person; 

  1. Description of the copyrighted work; 

  1. Location of allegedly infringing material on the RCSS website; 

  1. Your contact information; 

  1. Statement of good-faith belief that use is unauthorized; and 

  1. Statement under penalty of perjury that information is accurate.
