Mrs. Fields 2nd Grade Superheroes Welcome!
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year with Mrs. Fields. I am so excited to learn and grow with your child. Second grade is a critical developmental year where we are preparing your child for the upper grades by closing up any unidentified achievement gaps. I want to encourage my students to be independent, dedicated, focused, self-sufficient, responsible, and successful in the 2nd grade.
This is my 5th year teaching in the Richmond County School System but I have been teaching for a total of 8 years. I love to encourage children to become explores and inventors in their own learning. I am a proud product of Richmond County School System which is why it was important to serve as a teacher to support our students in the CSRA. I received my bachelors degree at Brenau University and I am currently finishing my masters degree from Walden University. I am a family orientated person who loves spending time with family and friends. I love sports, shopping, DIY projects, and traveling as my hobbies. I am a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons. I love to support students who are in any extra curriculum events outside of school such as church programs, sport games, and recitals. I am truly passionate about teaching our future leaders.
As a teacher, I believe that students need to know it is acceptable to make mistakes but it is important that we learn from them as well. My philosophy on education relies heavily on creating a safe and positive classroom environment. I hope to encourage students to be profound readers because reading is an important aspect of our lives. Parent communication is a key component in my classroom. I am a profound believer that it takes a village to raise a child. My mission is to build positive relationships with each of my parents as well as my students.
I know with teamwork we will have a successful year!
