Performing ensembles such as Band and Chorus include 6th, 7th and 8th grade students with and without prior experience. Their purpose is to introduce and cultivate musical literacy while improving the technical musical skill of each student. This is accomplished through daily rehearsals, utilizing a wide range of musical styles for both band and chorus performances. Performing in an ensemble is a challenge for student musicians; thus, requiring practice and perseverance in order to attain a satisfactory performance.
In addition to large group ensembles, individual growth and achievement are encouraged through participation in all county and all state ensembles, solo and ensemble festivals, honor ensembles and private lessons. Participation in concert performances outside of regular class hours is required.
