    Personal Fitness...8th Grade...  Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD)

    • Students will learn facts about Cardiovascular Diseases.
    • Risk factors for CVD.
    • Global affects of CVD.
    • Prevention and control.
    • Numer of deaths from CVD each year.

     

    Physical Education...6th, 7th, & 8th Grades...  Students will learn the regulations of Basketball. 

    • Students will engage in their regular scheduled physical fitness  activities daily.

     

     

    11/4/2019-11/8/2019

    Personal Fitness...8th Grade... Students will learn some of  the important facts concerning Cardiovascular Disease (CVD).

    • Students will be given statistics showi ng the number of deaths caused by CVD.
    • Students will be given valuable information on the  number of women who have suffered  some form of CVD.
    • Students will also be given the information on the difference beween CVD deaths for females and males.
    • Students will be taught some risk factors that bring on CVD.
    • Students will  discuss their  Personal Fitness Log that they were asked to design at the beginning of the school year.                                                                      

     Physical Education...6th, 7th, & 8th Grades... Students will learn  the rules and regulations of Basketball. Students will learn the physical benefits of exercise:

    • Your strength and muscular endurance improve. Muscles become stonger.
    • Your endurance improve. The heart gets stronger. The lungs can take in more air. 
    • Your flexibility improves.
    • Your coordination improves.                                    
    • Students will engage in their regular scheduled physical fitness activities daily.

    Personal Fitness...8th Grade... Students will learn the components of physical fitness. This week, they will concentrate on Muscular endurance. 

    • Students must be able to explain the difference between Muscular endurance and Cardiorespiratory endurance.
    • Students must be able to name physical activities that will improve in the area of Muscular endurance.   

    Students will learn the history, rules, and regulations of Basketball.

     

    Physical Education...6th, 7th, & 8th Grades...  Students will learn the importance of nutrition and health.

    • Students will need to explain how the food the  you  eat affects your health.
    • Describe the importance of eating foods high in nutrients.

    Students will learn the history, rules, and regulations of Basketball.

    Personal Fitness...8th Grade... Students will learn the importance of Cardiorespiratory Endurance:

    • Varies designed tests.
    • The development as it pertains to fitness.
    • How to monitor progress.
    • Exercises to incorporate cardio endurance.    
    • Students will engage in their regular scheduled physical fitness activities daily.
    • Students will continue to learn the rules and regulations  of Volleyball and Basketball as well as engaging in these physical activities.     

    Physical Education...6th, 7th, & 8th Grades... Students will be reviewing this week from their text books topics such as:

    • Exercising with caution.
    • Social skills.
    • Self-esteem.
    • Making healthy choices.
    • Learning the rules and regulations of Volleyball and Basketball.
    • Nutrition and Health.         
    •  Students will engage in their regular scheduled physical fitness activities daily.

    10/11/2019-10/18/2019

    Personal Fitness... 8th Grade... Students will learn the different aspects of wellness and health.

    • Students will have to describe the four parts of health.
    • Explain the difference between health and wellness.
    • Students will have terms to learn: health, wellness and health assessment.

    Theses assignments will be taken from the students' textbooks. 

    • Students will engage in their regular scheduled physical fitness activities daily.

     

    Physical Education...6th, 7th, & 8th Grades...Students will  learn the history of Volleyball with emphasis on the orgin, the Founder, the dates, and  the educational status of the inventor. Students will be asked to share their knowledge of Volleyball, as well. Students will then engage in the physical aspects of playing and learning the game of Volleyball during their  Physical Education activity time.

     08-06-2019--08-09-2019 WEEK 1

    Personal Fitness... Students will learn the five components of physical fitness which entails: muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, and body composition. This week's focus will be on muscular strength.

     

    Physical Education...Students will learn the basic rules and regulations of each sport activity during P.E.. This week's focus will be on Soccer. 

     

    08-12-2019--08-16-2019 WEEK 2 

    Physical Education...This week's  focus will be on learning the rules and regulations of Soccer which will entail watching Soccer videos as well as engaging in our regular scheduled physical activities.

    Personal Fitness...Students will have a review of Chapter 1 "Health and Wellness." Students will begin Chapter 2 "Successful Decisions and Goals." 

     

     

    August 6-30, 2019: Physical Education 6, 7 & 8

      

    Students in PE classes will learn the five components of the Georgia Fitness Gram Assessment: BMI, FLEXIBILITY, CURL-UPS, &  PACER RUN. Students' scores will be recorded on each assessment.

    Students will learn the basic rules and regulations of Soccer. Students will be actively engaged in motor skills, drills, and lead up games as they pertain to the game of Soccer

     

    August 6-30, 2019: Physical Fitness 8th Grade

    Students in Personal Fitness classes will be actively engaged in accessing the five components of the Georgia Fitness Gram. Students will be self-accessing their BMI, FLEXIBILITY, 

    CURL-UPS, PUSH-UPS & the PACER RUN for Pre-Test Scores.

     

     

    WEEK AT A GLANCE

     

    September 9, 2019-September 30, 2019: Physical Education 6, 7 & 8th Grades

     

    This week, students will review Chapters 1, 2, and 3 from  their text books and begin reading Chapter 4. Also, students will begin working from the text book Choosing The Best  where they will be asked to complete assignments along with different work activities  from the book. Students will begin the physical aspects of learning How To Play Soccer. Students will be participating in their regular scheduled exercising and activities.


     

     September 9, 2019-September 30, 2019: Personal Fitness 8th Grade

     

    Students will begin to learn the significants of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). They will be finishing  up their Pacer Test. Students will begin to work on designing their own Personal Fitness Log.
