Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Murphey Middle School. I'm delighted that you are my new students. I've taught 8th grade here at Murphey for 15 years, so this will be an exciting change. I look forward to preparing you for the next level! This year will look different because we are learning virtually, but we will still maintain the expectations of a traditional classroom. I look forward to building an educational partnership with my students and parents that will foster courage, determination, and passion for knowledge.  My students will excel in a nurturing and challenging educational environment that will ensure their academic success. I want you to have the best experience and enjoy learning. We will achieve this SUCCESS! We need everyone's commitment to showing up, participating, and most importantly respecting our learning environment. I have planned lots of engaging activities and I want you to get excited because we are going on an adventure!

  • Online Learning Academy Assignments and Instruction:

     

    All assignments will be in Canvas, the Learning Management System for all RCBOE students.

    Live online classes will be held via Microsoft Teams. All students have Microsoft Team accounts in Launchpad. Students will receive an email that provides a link for joining their classes.  

     

    • Make sure you check your student email and Canvas DAILY. Access Canvas and student emails through Launchpad
    • My teacher webpage will be updated weekly, please check it regularly.
    • If you have any problems with your assignments or passwords email me.

  • NIGHTLY READING ASSIGNMENT:  We want our students to become the Best Readers in Richmond County. They have a reading assignment every night. All the students in my class have nightly homework. Please see the homework link for additional information.
