Welcome to Spanish class Parents and Students

I am excited to be your child's Spanish teacher this academic school year and work towards making this school year informative and productive.  Learning a foreign language is now, more than ever, an essential part of your child's educational career.

Not only is learning a foreign laguage successfully is a requirement here at Hephzibah High School, it will also provide your child with the linguistic skills that are necessary for achieving at college and in the real world.

Learning a foreign language is not just about memorizing vocabulary and verbs, it is about expanding your child's cultural horizons, improving their communication skills, and helping them to better understand their own language.

Students learn best by applying the material, not just taking notes on it. Thus, my goal is for my students to become engaged in the material through active learning. I want students to gain a practical knowledge of the language. It is not essential that they know all the vocabulary for every situation or to speak without grammatical errors; what is important is that they are familiar enough with culture and language to communicate effectively with others.

I believe that all students are capable of learning a foreign language, and I will work diligently to ensure that all students are able to achieve success in my classroom.
