    Dear Parents and Guardians,

Richmond County School System considers the health and well-being of our students, teachers, and staff to be of the utmost importance. It is with that in mind that this letter is being sent home for your information. A. Dorothy Hains Elementary School has been impacted by an increase in COVID-19 related absence in our staff.

We are committed to ensure the safest environment for our students and staff.  As a result, Hains Elementary School will transition to Learn@Home instruction beginning February 8, 2021 and students will return on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Face to Face students will begin Learn@Home instruction on February 8, 2021. Please pick up instructional materials beginning Monday, February 8 from 1pm - 3pm through Tuesday, February 9 from 8:30am -12 pm. If you have not received notification that your child has had direct contact with a COVID positive case, they are not required to self-isolate.

During this time, your child’s teacher will support instruction and learning. Students will be considered present for the entirety of the Learn@Home period as long as all assignments are completed.  If you would like to order meals for pick up from another school, please call 706-826-1122.
