Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome the Fifth Grade Math!!
Welcome to fifth grade! My name is Mr. Russell Neely and I will be your child's fifth-grade math teacher this year. This is my 10th year of teaching and my 12th year in the Richmond County School System. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Brenau University and my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. I also hold a Math Endorsement. I am also the 2017 McBean Teacher of the Year! I look forward to working with each of you to make this year the best ever for your little ones.
Here are a few reminders:
Absences: Student absences should be kept to a minimum. When a student is absent please send a doctor’s note the next day. Only 5 parent notes are accepted each school year if you should have to send a parent excuse. When students return to school, their work will be a “Ketchup Folder”. Students will get 2 days per 1 day absent to make up their work and turn it into me upon completion. If students do not turn in their make-up work they will receive a zero.
Conferences: Conferences can be scheduled for Tuesdays and Wednesdays between the hours 7:15-8:15. They can also be held over the phone if necessary. You can also contact me through notes or firstname.lastname@example.org
Room Temperature: It stays very cold in our room during the summer months and early fall. Students may bring a sweater or jacket to help them keep warm.
Assessments: Each week students will be tested on the standards that were taught throughout the week.
Content Weights: Classwork = 75% and Tests/Quizzes = 25%
Thank you for all that you are doing at home. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns.
