Mr. Johansen
  • Hello, I am Tim Johansen, a Special Education teacher who is beginning his 3rd year at Belair and 15th year of teaching. I was born and raised in South Dakota and Minnesota, and have also lived and worked in California, Oregon, Maryland, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Besides Belair, I have also taught in Portland, Oregon; Washington, D.C.; Omaha, Nebraska; and Cheyenne, WY.  I hold a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a master’s degree in Special Education.  I am married, have 2 daughters and 3 additional "bonus" (step) children, along with 5 dogs and 3 cats.  I am excited to be living and teaching in Georgia!  In addition to teaching, I love gardening and landscaping, both never-ending hobbies!

In my role as a Special Education teacher, I am eager to teach and support your children throughout the beginning of their lifelong educational journey.  My goal is to help them improve in all areas of their lives by motivating them to be the best that they can be.  Myself and the rest of the Belair staff are here to support you and your children. Please feel free to reach out to me for any questions and/or concerns. I will respond as soon as possible within 24 hours of your message. I am looking forward to a terrific year and wish you and your children the best for the future!
