Hello, I am Mr. Tim Johansen, a new Special Education teacher at Belair K-8. This is my 13th year of teaching, recently teaching for 9 years at a high school in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I am originally from South Dakota and have also lived in Minnesota, California, Oregon, Maryland, and Nebraska. Besides Cheyenne, I have also taught in Portland, Oregon; Washington, D.C.; and Omaha, Nebraska. I have also worked as a stockbroker, insurance salesman, and the director of a non-profit. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a master’s degree, in Special Education, from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. I am excited to be living in Georgia and looking forward to establishing myself here!
In my role as a Special Education teacher, I am eager to teach and support your children throughout the beginning of their lifelong educational journey. My goal is to help them improve in all areas of their lives by motivating them to be the best that they can be. There will be many adjustments for returning students this year but remember that the Belair staff and myself are here to support you and your children. Please feel free to reach out to me for any questions and/or concerns. I will respond as soon as possible within 24 hours of your message. I am looking forward to a terrific year and wish you and your children the best for the future!
