Greetings! I am Ms. K. Parker and I am currently serving as the Special Education Dept Lead for Barton Chapel Elementary School. I possess a Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders which I obtained from Valdosta State University. In May of 2020, I received my Masters in Arts of Teaching and Special Education certification from Georgia College and State University. Before entering my career in education, I spent my time providing services to children with speech disorders. I have held several leadership roles and been a part of many extracurricular activities, all of which have helped me become the educator I am today. From holding positions and active memberships with the National Speech Language Hearing Association, National Honors Society, Student Council for Exceptional Children, and Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Incorporated, to name a few, I have proven to be more than capable to take on and produce a safe, loving environment that promotes positive learning and growth for all my students. No matter the grade, I vow to make a positive impact on all students and go above and beyond to help them become life long learners, effective communicators, and problem solvers.
