Dear Richmond Hill K-8 family,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as one of the newly appointed Assistant Principals of Richmond Hill K-8. I am honored to be in this position and I’m looking forward to assisting Dr. Spruil, the Admin team, along with faculty, staff, parents and students of the Richmond Hill K-8 family in making this a great school year.
I started working with the Richmond County school system in 2003 as an Automotive teacher at Cross Creek High School although I was hired to be a math teacher. I both saved and improved the automotive program. Students were engaged in this program. Students, parents, teachers and people of the community would often leave their vehicles at Cross Creek auto shop in the morning for various repairs and services and pick them up by appointment. I also enjoyed coaching soccer and basketball.
In 2018, I transferred to Laney High School as an ISS teacher and coached the JV Basketball and Soccer teams. The ISS program was successful in curving and transforming students’ behavior. This program was used to force students to make better choices for the two years I spent at Laney.
In 2020, I became an assistant principal at Glenn Hills High school. Several of my direct responsibilities were, but not limited to (student discipline, Buses/Transportation, MTSS, RTI, 504’s, Teacher’s attendance, Student’s attendance, PBIS, COVID, Custodial staff, Cafeteria, CTAE etc.).
I am excited and looking forward to working with you all this year and beyond. I am certain that my nineteen years of high school career experiences have prepared me for this new position.
I am committed to working closely with teachers, parents, and community members to ensure our children receive a world-class education. I cannot wait to meet each one of you in person. I heartily welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. Please know that my door is always open. I look forward to being a part of the Bull Dog family and to celebrating our collective successes during the 2022-2023 school year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Pitter
