    Welcome to Physical Science (MYP Year 3)!!!

     
    Please PAUSE for a moment of Science...Physical Science is the study of the physical world around us.  This course is an introductory study of chemistry (interaction of matter) and physics (matter in motion).
     
    Langford IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Year 3 Sciences class lessons will encourage students to investigate issues through research, observation, experimentation, and technology working independently and collaboratively. As students investigate real examples of science application, they discover the tensions and dependence between science and morality, ethics, culture, economics, politics and the environment. 
     
    Students will investigate science concepts through the study of phenomena, lab experiences and field work.  Students will develop models, plan and conduct investigations, analyze and interpret data, use mathematical and computational thinking and construct explanations; and use these practices to demonstrate their understanding of the core ideas.  Students will learn how to use and apply scientific and technological information correctly, and integrate science and engineering practices to engage in scientific inquiry and engineering design.
