Welcome everyone! I am Dr. Chris Baxter and I am the new high school counselor at ARJ. I am both a certified school counselor (GA) and licensed clinical mental health counselor associate (NC). I received my doctorate in counseling and counselor education from North Carolina State University, and my master’s in counselor education from Augusta University. I believe in the power of community, working as a collective, and the impact of sharing knowledge. I believe in the power of individual experiences and exploring the ways we can utilize our individual experience and knowledge to enhance our communities at large. My hope is to do what I can to empower individuals and groups by creating equitable opportunities for growth and exploration for students and stakeholders.

When I’m not working, I enjoy film, all things comics, fashion, sneakers, music, and collectibles! I support the arts, I am a mental health advocate, and I am extremely passionate about decolonizing harmful systemic structures!
