Dr. Marsha J. Moorman
Title: Science Teacher
I have been teaching for 20 years. I am delighted to be teaching Science, Physical Science and Gifted ~ Science for 8th grade students. I am a graduate of the Richmond County Public School System (A.R. Johnson Health Professions High School). I received my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Microbiology from The University of Georgia. I received my Medical Doctorate (MD) from Southern Illinois School of Medicine.
It is my goal to create a classroom environment conducive to learning. My hope is not only to teach students about Science, but prepare them for life.
I enlist the support of my student's parents to encourage their child to come to class on time, prepared and ready to learn.
I enlist the support of my students to maintain an attitude of respect and willingness to learn.
Science is a "hands-on" subject where we work together to KNOW, UNDERSTAND and DO.
Classroom Rule: Respect is the rule. The rule is respect.
HELP SESSIONS: Help sessions are available as needed, with prior parent approval, from 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday -Thursday.
ABSENCES: Upon returning from an absence, it is the student's responsibility to obtain any missing assignments.
The class powerpoints will be uploaded for each of the topics to be covered this year, however, the order may be changed daily to meet the individual needs of each class. (8/7/2016)
