Mrs. Jule Edmunds
What a great year to be a part of Hephzibah High School! I am currently the ELA teacher for American and British Literature and am excited to impart knowledge to your child/children and excite each of them in the fascinations of how literature affects unique cultures and climates. My students will be taught through a variety of differentiation techniques and extensive Thinking Maps to help them develop writing and reading skills. I also collect data from Benchmark scores, Common Core testing, and Milestone's annual academic achievement tests to identify where the placement should be in scaffolding his/her assignments. I also use the previous I-Ready Placement test and Accelerated Reader to gain a Lexile level in reading to promote his/her growth comprehension.
My background includes 18 years as a middle school teacher, earning the honor of Teacher of the Year (2016-2017), with the following educational degrees: Bachelor of Science at Georgia Southern University; Masters degree in Creative Arts in Educational Learning at Leslie University; Specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Augusta University. I also taught American Lit and British Lit last year as a newcomer to HHS.
My training in the educatonal field is always evolving, including the following: Writing Across the Curriculum certification (RESA); Reading Endorsement Certification; ThinkCERCA certified.
In my spare time, I enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of the beach and babysit children/grandchildren for the Augusta National Golf Club's elite club members and Chairman.
I have an open-door policy and welcome positive comments and suggestions.
