WELCOME BACK MURPHEY MAVERICKS!
My name is Mrs Inga Coleman. I am starting my third year as a School Counselor here at Murphey Middle School. I'm here to support all students academically, socially and emotionally and I await the opportunity to meet you!
A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR COUNSELOR
I have been in education for 20 years. I started my journey in McDuffie County as a 5th grade teacher at Norris Elementary. I came to the Richmond County School system in 2005 and worked as a 5th grade teacher at Joseph Lamar Elementary. I was there for five years and I enjoyed my time as a classroom teacher.
In 2010, I accepted a position through Title I as a Parent Facilitator. I worked at Bayvale Elementary for two years and at Butler High School for six years as a parent facilitator. I learned so much about how to implement an effective parental involvement program at both schools. Working with parents, students and the community on a daily basis taught me how important that partnership was so that every child could be successful.
My experiences in the classroom and as a parent facilitator have prepared me to help the families that I will serve here at Murphey as your counselor. I have enjoyed the last two years as a counselor here at Murphey. It is my hope that this year will be filled with successful experiences for all of the students that I get the opportunity to interact with.
I am married to Mr D Coleman and we have three wonderful children. D Jr is 21, Indya is 17 and Imari is 14!
I'm looking forward to another great year at Murphey Middle School.
