Mrs. Wing's KindergartenClass Page
Welcome to Diamond Lakes Elementary School. What a pleasure it is to have the opportunity to educate your child this school year! Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Casey Wing and this is my fourth year teaching at Diamond Lakes. I taught 2nd grade my first two years at Diamond Lakes and decided to make a change last year when I fell in love with teaching Kindergarten! I am excited to see what this next year of Kindergarten holds for me and for your students. I am originally from Athens, Georgia and moved to Augusta three years ago for my husband to attend The Medical College of Georgia. I am a graduate of the University of Georgia, so don’t be surprised if your child comes home talking about UGA, red and black, bulldogs, or football!
I believe that a good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort between parent, child, and teacher. My expectations for conduct and standards for academic growth are high. With your participation, we can look forward to a productive, creative and fun year together!
My philosophy of education is very simple. I believe.....
- Children should be active participants in the learning process.
- Teaching is a lifelong process; thus, it is necessary to constantly explore new teaching strategies and concepts.
- Parental involvement is essential for a child’s total educational development.
- Learning should be fun, exciting, and stimulating.
I have planned many challenging and exciting activities that are designed to provide optimum educational experiences in our classroom. Please read the following “Guide to Kindergarten” that will give you more details about the upcoming school year. It contains a great deal of information, but relax! This will be a wonderful time for you and your child. We will handle problems together and make this year a success!- Mrs. Wing
