Students can locate grade recovery for the second quarter under: Canvas, ELA, Modules, Grade Recovery:  There is a course description and assignments inside that module.

    Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school at Spirit Creek Middle School.

We hope you enjoyed your summer and are returning to school refreshed, relaxed, and ready to learn.  Our teachers have spent the last few months learning new technology, planning new lessons, and gearing up for the school year.  Our administrative staff has worked diligently to ensure the smoothest start possible and that students have the technology and materials they need to be successful.  Our guidance staff have been checking on students, creating plans to support students in a virtual setting, and aiding in student enrollment.  Our office staff has organized the efforts of all stakeholders, communicated with our families, and “kept the trains running on time,” while our custodial and facilities staff have done their best to ensure our building is ready for teachers and face to face students to return.

This year will look different than years past.  We will be teaching and learning virtually, otherwise known as, LEARN FROM HOME.  Students will be required to enter “Microsoft teams” meetings via digital device in real time, at their scheduled class time(s).  Attendance will be taken daily, each period, and entered into our Infinite Campus system as it has been in years past.  Our instruction will be more rigorous than last Spring and our expectations regarding the instruction, participation, and assignments will more closely resemble our traditional classroom settings. Our main forms of communication will be, but not limited to, Microsoft platforms: EMAIL (outlook), Teams (live video teaching and interfacing), and most importantly CANVAS which is where assignments, grading, discussion, etc. will take place.

All signs point to this being a successful year.  We are all so excited to see your faces (albeit virtually), get to know you, and explore the curriculum together.

    We’ll see you soon.

    Yours in Education,

    Mr. Hoffman
