  • Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Ms. Weaver’s 3rd grade class. I am very excited to have your child as one of my fabulous fourth grade students this school year!  I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you and your child.  This year will be packed full of learning experiences and fun adventures that no one will want to miss out on!  Please be aware of important feedback that will be sent home in a Tuesday take-home folder to give updates on student work and their agendas.    I believe that teacher-parent communication is extremely important and I encourage you to contact me with any and all questions or concerns.  I will be available by Remind 101 or school phone, or please feel free to send a note back in your child’s weekly folder.

In order to promote academic success and a good classroom-learning environment, this year all students will be expected to abide by a few main classroom essential agreement (rules) in IB.  I would like for you to be familiar with our Essential Agreement as well as the school rules and policies.  Our main classroom essential agreement are 1) Show everyone respect 2) Always be prepared 3) Have a positive attitude and do your best!   Our remaining two or three rules will be decided upon as a class so that the student’s take pride and ownership in them.

I have very high expectations for the academic school year, and I am devoted to helping your child succeed!  I believe that all students are unique and capable of learning.  I will send home graded student work on Tuesdays in a folder that should be signed and returned the next day.  I want you to always be aware of your child’s progress, so there are no surprises.

Encourage your child daily to participate during class discussions and help them to understand that it’s okay to ask questions when they don’t understand. Your child should practice good study habits and they should study daily, so please make sure they take the time to study even when there is no homework assigned. I want to make your child’s classroom environment a pleasant one, filled with rich experiences, challenging assignments, loads of achievements and lasting friendships. After all we are a family ☺.

I will communicate through your child’s agenda and via Remind 101, so please sign up to receive important information. Once again, I am thrilled to be working with your child this year and I cannot wait to see all of the amazing achievements this year brings!
