Welcome to the Fourth Grade!
Dear Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s),
The fourth-grade team would like to welcome your child to Jamestown Elementary School! We are going to have a busy and productive school year, filled with fun and exciting learning activities, social events, and much more. Throughout the school year, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have about your child or other school issues. We will make sure to do the same. We believe keeping the lines of communication open between home and school is a key component to the success of a child’s education. We will keep you informed of our classroom policies, curriculum, your child’s progress, and any information that will aid in making this year successful and memorable! We will be communicating with you through phone calls, text messaging (class dojo), letters, and/or conferences.
We are very excited about the upcoming school year, as I hope you and your child are too! Teaching is a commitment we take very seriously. We recognize that each of our students have his or her own way of learning. It’s important for us to determine these styles and help each student achieve to the best of their ability. Throughout the school year, we will not only be helping our students learn, but learn how to learn. We also believe in learning from our students as they do from us. Learning is a lifelong process.
We will set high, but clear and appropriate expectations for all our students and will assist them in using their knowledge and abilities to meet those expectations. As we expect respect, cooperation, participation, and honesty from our students, they should expect the same from us. We believe our enthusiasm and dedication we have for our profession sets an example for our students.
You are the most important person in your child’s life and together we can help him or her reach many exciting goals. Thank you for your help!
