Tutoring dates/times announced at the beginning of each week via Remind101.
    Precalculus code: @johnsonpc
    Algebra II code: @johnsonal2

  • Scores for the 1st unit (which you should complete by 3/27) will be entered into Infinite Campus no later than 3/30.
Scores for the 2nd unit (which you should complete by 4/17) will be entered into Infinite Campus no later than 4/20.
Scores for the 3rd unit (which you should complete by 5/1) will be entered into Infinite Campus no later than 5/4.

    Edited 3/27/20 at 7:30pm

Each unit is broken up into Warm-ups, Instruction (usually videos), Assignments, and Quizzes. At the very end, there is a Unit Test Review followed by a Unit Test.

    • Warm-ups will be counted like Homework/Do Nows (10%),
    • Instruction and Assignments will be counted like Classwork (20%),
    • Quizzes will be counted as Quizzes (30%),
    • Unit Test Reviews and Unit Tests will be counted as Tests (40%)

Each item is worth 100 points. i.e. if there are seven warm-ups, you will be able to score UP TO 700 points in the Homework/Do Nows category.

*You get 2 attempts on each quiz to pass (70 or better). Before I add retakes, I will reach out to you so we can discuss your incorrect answers. This way, when I add a retake, you will be able to pass instead of getting endless retake opportunities.

*If you have to take a quiz multiple times, the average of your attempts is what I will put in Infinite Campus. i.e. if you have to take a quiz three times to pass, and your scores were 20%, 40%, then 80%, the grade I will put in Infinite Campus for that quiz will be (20+40+80)/3, which is about 47%. Make sure you are taking the quizzes seriously, checking answers BEFORE you submit them. I cannot prevent you from using notes/other resources on these quizzes. Take advantage of that!

  • Dear Parents & students,

I want to thank you in advance for your patience during these coming weeks. I have communicated with students my expectations for them over the following weeks but want to provide you with full transparency about those expectations as well. The next units of Precalculus will be assigned on Blended Learning (previously called Edgenuity). Students access the assignments through Launchpad. They will be working at their own pace, beginning with the Vectors unit, followed by Conics, then lastly Probability. My recommendation is that they are spending 30 to 60 min daily on the assignments just like if they were in class. At this pace, my expecation is that they will be able to finish the first unit easily within the next two weeks. I am also recommending that they take the video/instruction portion seriously and write notes (formulas, example problems, definitions) just like they were in class. I understand it can be easy to zone out, leave the room, and/or get distracted by other things while working from home, but their grades on these assignments will be their grades for the fourth nine weeks. I am well aware the Blended Learning is not 100% the best resource for learning, so I will be updating my "Precalculus Helpful Links" page with other websites/resources that I think students would benefit from.

As far as communication and contact goes, please make sure you are signed up to receive messages from Remind 101. The class code is johnsonpc. This is my preferred method of communication. These messages come directly to my phone. I have told students that I will respond to their messages Monday through Friday within 24 hours of receiving them. On the weekend, it could take a little longer. If you are having difficulties accessing the assignments, please let me know ASAP.

Again, thank you for being understanding and gracious during this time.

    -Ms. Johnson
