Presidential Scholar and Georgia Scholar

Program Information 2021-22

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program from the U.S. Department of Education was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors.  Any Georgia high-school student may complete the application, provided they are scheduled to graduate between January 2022 and August 2022, and provided they secure signatures from their principal and school counselor along with their parent/guardian. Click here for the 2022 Presidential Scholar nomination/application form.  The application is due Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at noon.

Through the Georgia Scholar program, GaDOE identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for his or her diploma. Applicants should be aware that Georgia Scholar is a recognition-only program and no scholarship funds are associated.  Any 2022 graduating senior attending a Georgia high school may complete the application, provided they meet the criteria (outlined in the application) and provided they secure signatures from their principal, school counselor, and parent/guardian. Click here for the 2022 Georgia Scholar application form. The application is due Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at noon.
