Al B. Young Memorial Scholarship Opportunity

Honoring the legacy of Al B. Young BELOVED HUSBAND, FATHER, SON, BROTHER, and FRIEND DEDICATED & INNOVATIVE EDUCATOR, MENTOR and ENTREPRENEUR In memory of my beloved husband, the Al Bodie Young Memorial Scholarship 2026 application is now available. Al was a brilliant and innovative educator. Al was raised by two now retired public school educators and I was raised by a grandfather with a 3rd grade education and grandmother with a 6th grade education. I was a first-generation college student. I am the only 4-year college degree graduate on my side of the family. Thus, we both placed great emphasis on education and the value of a high-quality education for all. Education can change the trajectory of a child’s life. It is the great equalizer. We shared a passion for serving God and providing optimal educational experiences. Part of our core beliefs are to give to and serve others, and to help others if we can.  Al began his career in education as a Media / Technology Specialist at Augusta Technical College. He later became Director of Distance Education at Denmark Technical College. Al then obtained a position with the Richmond County School System as a 21st Century Site Director. He later became an Engineering / Broadcast Video Production teacher at Glenn Hills High School where he served as Skills USA Advisor and coached track. He was amongst the first faculty and staff members at Richmond County Technical Career Magnet (RCTCM) School where he taught Audio Visual Technology and Film (AVTF), served as Skills USA Advisor, and coached track. Al received recognition for the 2015-2016 RCTCM Teacher of the Year. He was the first in the state of Georgia to earn Industry Certification for the Audio-Visual Technology and Film Pathway. Most recently, he served as a Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Coordinator for the Richmond County School System. He was the innovator who planned, developed, and implemented live streaming of Richmond County School System’s high school graduations. He also developed RCSS 360. He was a member of various professional organizations. Two scholarships will be awarded. One scholarship will be issued to a Silver Bluff High School Senior and another will be issued to a Richmond County High School Senior who is an Audio-Visual Technology and Film pathway completer. Applications due May 1, 2026.  All applications must be postmarked by April 24, 2026.

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants Scholarships - $1,000.00

The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution.Awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s).

AES (Amica Extraordinary Service) Scholarship - $500.00

Deadline: October 8, 2026

A scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.  It is intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study & is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.   You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) - up to $2,000.00

ELKS National Foundation Scholarship - $1,000 - $12,000.00 per year

 "Most Valuable Student" scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university.   The 20 Top Finalists traditionally* participate in an all expenses paid  Leadership Weekend  in Chicago during which they’ll interview with the national judges. These 20 Finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000; two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. GE Aerospace-Reagan Workforce Readiness Scholarship

New for 2026, the GE Aerospace-Reagan Workforce Readiness Scholarship supports students pursuing practical, industry-aligned education pathways that lead to high-demand careers in aerospace, technology, and advanced manufacturing. This program will annually award numerous scholarships of up to $20,000 each to high school seniors planning to enroll in eligible technical or two-year degree, industry certification, or skilled-trade training programs. National Association of University Women Augusta Branch

The National Association of University Women is an organization of college trained women whose purpose is to promote and conduct educational activities designed to provide community outreach services at every level of development.

The Augusta Branch of NAUW will award one scholarship to an African American young lady in the graduating senior class of 2026 in the amount of $500.00 to assist in her pursuit of a college education. The young lady selected to receive the scholarship will be notified by letter. The young lady will be required to provide an official verification of enrollment in order to receive the scholarship. Peach State Federal Credit Union Scholarships

This year, Peach State Federal Credit Union is awarding $277,000 in scholarships and educational grants to seniors graduating from high school and adults seeking career advancement.

We’ll be accepting applications December 2nd-February 28th.

PILOT International Grants & Scholarships - $1,500.00

The Pilot International Founders Fund supports five Scholarship Programs to benefit graduate and undergraduate students studying for a career in one of Pilot’s chosen areas of service focus – Encouraging Brain Safety & Health and/or Supporting Those who Care for Others.

Bob King Co-Pilot Memorial Scholarship:   Scholarships are based on community service, financial need, academic success, & application contents. Scholarships are awarded for one academic year. A student may re-apply & be granted the Bob King Co-Pilot Scholarship for no more than 3 additional years. Award amounts may vary, but will not exceed $1,500 per year for full time students and $750.00 for part time students. Two individual scholarships will be awarded each year.  

PRINT & GRAPHICS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) offer assistance to students interested in a career in the graphic communications field.   The Foundation, along with its donors and sponsors, are working to build the future workforce of the graphic communications industry.                                                                                                                             Technical Writing Competition:  All full-time college or university students in either an undergraduate or graduate degree program approved by the PGSF may enter the competition. Student T-Shirt Design Contest:  The t-shirt will be used to promote the careers possible in graphics, availability of scholarships through PGSF, and/or how graphic communications fit into today’s world. This 2025-2026 Presidential Scholarship is provided for high school seniors based on academic achievement, honors, extra-curricular activities, and leadership.  They must be college-bound students.

Robbie Robinson Scholarship - $1,500.00

One $1,500.00 award for a potential college freshman planning to attend an HBCU or the University of Georgia and major in a public service field. 

Ryan "Stack" Clark Community Service Scholarship - $2,000.00

Eligibility is students living or attending high school in Richmond or Columbia County with a sincere commitment, motivation & interest to serve the community.  Must be of high moral character & possess a history of service to their school, neighborhood or community and demonstrated leadership qualities.    Winner receives $2,000.00.   Finalists receive $1,000.00 & $500.00

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

ANDREW FLUSCHE SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST - $500.00

This contest requires students to raise awareness about different legal issues. Applicants must create a public service advertisement video (PSA) about how to drive courteously.   Your PSA will be judged on the level of creativity and persuasiveness, as well as how informative it is.

 ELIGIBILITY:

The following people are eligible for the scholarship:

• High school seniors who have been accepted into a college, university, or trade school.
• Students who are currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school.
• People are accepted into a graduate school.

The Gates Scholarship

Deadline: September 15, 2025

A highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors.  Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by FAFSA.

University of North Georgia Military Scholarship Application

The Georgia Military Service Scholarship is worth about $85,000+ over four years!

The State of Georgia funds 42 full scholarships per year to Georgia high school seniors who agree to enlist in the Georgia Army National Guard, attend the University of North Georgia, participate in the Corps of Cadets, and commission as officers in the Georgia Army National Guard after graduating with their bachelor's degrees.

The scholarship covers almost all of your expenses, including tuition, books, uniforms, fees, meals, and housing.

Leroy Steed Educational Scholarship

Amount:  $1000 This scholarship will be awarded for outstanding essays that demonstrate moral fiber which reflect an appreciation of the exemplary character and soldierly virtues of Mr. Steed. The applicant must be a senior, not have received the Leroy Steed Scholarship in the past, be a resident of Augusta-Richmond County and have attended an RC high school during both junior and senior years.

The contest began in 1979 to recognize up-and-coming artists and encourage patriotism in youth.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

• Students in grades 9-12 by the March 31 deadline who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States, its territories and possessions; or dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel in overseas schools.
• Student must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
• Student does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary.

Watson Brown Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: February 8, 2026 (opens in October each year).

$6,000 per year ($24,000 total)

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Foundation Scholarship (Eta Theta Zeta)

The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Trailblazing Tau Omicron Zeta chapter is a group of dynamic, educated and professional women.  Students must be a high school senior enrolling in accredited technical colleges, 2-year colleges, and 4-year colleges are eligible for this scholarship.

Kiwanis Club of Augusta Scholarship

The Kiwanis Club of Augusta Scholarship is now accepting applications from students attending or planning to enroll at Augusta Technical College or Aiken Technical College this fall. This scholarship helps students prepare for in-demand careers while reducing the financial burden of pursuing their education.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 toward qualified educational expenses for the upcoming fall term.
