Family Medical & Leave

 
Eligibility Requirements: Employees are eligible if they have worked for  Richmond County School System for at least 12 months, have 1,250 hours of service in the previous 12 months.
 
Requesting FMLA Leave: To request FMLA Leave, an employee must submit a completed and signed RCSS Employee FMLA Request Form and a doctor's note.
 
Return to Work: When returning from medical leave, employees must submit to the Human Resources Benefits Office and their supervisor a release to return to work statement/doctor's note from the healthcare provider stating that the employee is able to perform the essential functions of the job.  If an employee is released with work restrictions, the work restrictions must be approved by the Human Resources designee.
