Hephzibah Middle School

Home of the Rebels
  • Hephzibah Middle School is proud to be a Title I school.  Our goal is to ensure that all students at HMS have an opportunity to obtain a high quality education and to achieve proficiency on the Georgia Milestones End of Grade Assessment.

In an effort to provide HMS Title I Parent Involvement Events that are meaningful and fun, we’d like you to respond to a survey about events you would like to see offered at HMS!

An explanation of each event is provided below, so that you may more accurately complete the survey.

Please click on this link to access the survey

    Explanation of events:

    Cultural Event
    – Parents and students have an opportunity to share their cultural history and learn about others, as they share food and customs from around the world.

    Parental Involvement Night
    – Parents have an opportunity to learn about the curriculum their child is studying, and meet with HMS administration and faculty.

    Students as Teachers Night –
Students take on the role of teachers as they present knowledge based on their own classroom lessons.  Parents—you’re the students!

Walk in your Child’s Shoes –
Experience Middle School the same way that your child does!  Parents have an opportunity to go to classes and activities with their student, and interact with teachers.

Popcorn, Coke and a Smile –
This is a chance for parents to network with other parents and meet with teachers (during their planning times) while picking up their child’s progress report.

Middle School Playbook for Transitioning Parents –
Parents of incoming 6th graders have the opportunity to come to HMS, meet the administration, faculty and staff, and learn what is expected of their students, and themselves.

    Parent-Student Dances / Student Dances –
A fun social event for parents and students to interact and get to know one another.

    Student of the Month –
Students are recognized for their efforts and encouraged to continue to excel in their academic progress. Parents have an opportunity to spend time with their children and celebrate their achievements.

    Community Resource Fair –
Parents have the opportunity to meet with CSRA vendors to receive valuable information about services available in and around the community.
