Jessica Smith

I am honored to be your amazing child’s teacher for this 2024-2025 school year! I will be co-teaching grades 1 and 5 ELA. We are going to do and learn so many new things!  Together we will always ask, "What do I wonder?" or "What do I observe?" My goal is to use research-based strategies to help your child succeed both academically and socially.

 A little bit about myself:

I grew up in an Air Force family and have had "roots" here in Augusta, GA since 1992.  I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Florida State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching, with an emphasis on special education, from Augusta University.  I also have a Dyslexia Reading Endorsement.

I love spending time with my family and playing with all of my animals.  I have a son who recently graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in engineering and a daughter who recently graduated from the Savannah College of Arts and Design with a degree in graphics design. We have two dogs, three cats, and a quarter horse.

I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship! I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time.
