    Augusta Chronicle’ seeks Best & Brightest students for 2019 award

    Nominations are being accepted for The Augusta Chronicle’s 17th annual Best & Brightest Awards. Nominations are being accepted for The Augusta Chronicle’s 17th annual Best & Brightest Awards.The awards are designed to highlight outstanding high school seniors in our area. Twenty semifinalists will be selected and recognized in The Chronicle’s Best & Brightest graduation section to be published Sunday, May 26, and at the Best & Brightest banquet on Thursday, May 23.Each of the 20 semifinalists will be interviewed on Thursday, May 2, by a panel of judges who will choose four finalists and the Best & Brightest Award recipient.

    These top five students will be awarded scholarships.Applicants must be able to attend both the interview and the banquet. Semifinalists will be notified by April 25 in order to schedule an interview time. A portrait will also be taken at the interview for use in print and online.To be considered for the Best & Brightest Award, students must complete and submit by mail or in person: the 2019 Best & Brightest application, a short essay, an official high school transcript that includes senior year courses in progress, and a letter of nomination written by someone other than a relative.
