Dr. Linda W. Washington

Welcome Cross Creek High School scholars, parents, and the community to the new 2023-2024 school year!

I am excited to share a few fun facts about myself. I have been teaching in the CTAE program since 1991. My teaching career started at a local comprehensive high school, namely, Lucy Craft Laney Comprehensive High School. I later went to teach in Aiken County at the Career & Technology Center. I taught middle school at Hephzibah Middle for a decade. After growing in my craft and earning my doctorate degree, I left the middle school setting to teach at Westside High School. After being there for five years, I desired to acquire an administrative position in the state of Alaska. I love motivating those student scholars, whom I have the daily pleasure of helping to shape and mold them into productive citizens.

With the new mandates from our presiding Governor, a new law has been adopted to ensure every K-12 student scholar receives a Computer Science education. At one time, the course was simply a high school elective. Yet now it is for every K-12 Georgia student scholar to gain knowledge and skills to be digitally literate, a good digital citizen, digitally-competent, and also to learn how to use computational thinking to solve complex problems in our ever-evolving digital society.

So, join me in assuring your child exerts himself or herself for the many Computer Science careers that are waiting to be filled. When we consistently partner together, we can prepare for the next set of Cross Creek High School graduates for the vast Computer Science careers globally, nationally, and locally. I solicit your support in all we do here at Cross Creek High School.

The cocurricular organization connected to my class is Future Business Leaders of America. This is an organization that teaches leadership skills, employabilikty skills, how to share in charitable endeavors, and the diverse community affairs in our city, state, and across the nation. This organization also offers students the opportunity to earn scholarships for a post secondary education. Parents, we welcome your support. Have a productive school year.

Cheers to an awesome school year!
