I currently serve as the Past-president of the South Carolina Council of Teachers of English (SCCTE) and Director of Awards and Public Relations for SCCTE. I also served as the Chairman of the Aiken County Council of Teachers of English. I have been teaching for 38 years: 8 years in Pickens County, 2 years in Charleston County, and 28 years in Aiken County. This will be my 39th year in education! I also taught for a year at Tri County Technical College near Clemson University, and I served as Co-Director of the Aiken Writing Project at USC-Aiken for five terms.  I received my BA from Clemson University and my MA from Furman University. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in curriculum and instruction at Liberty University.   I love to write poetry, fiction, and memoir.  I currently teach AP Literature, American Literature Honors, and English 10 GT/Honors.  I love what I do, and I see myself as a lifelong learner. I am passionate about writing and literacy.
