WELCOME GEMS!
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Diamond Lakes Elementary School! My name is Ms. Shundra Johnson, but I'd rather go by Coach Shun. I was born and raised in Decatur, Ga and later migrated to Augusta on a full basketball scholarship to Augusta State University. I have a background in providing therapy to the community, ensuring the well-being of at-risk youth in Foster Care, working with troubled youth, serving as a Correctional Counselor/Sergeant at a Youth Development Campus, Middle School Ladies Track Coach, etc.
This is my 4th year of teaching, and I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to teach your young GEM! I am deeply committed to creating a classroom environment that is inclusive, supportive, and full of opportunities for growth. My goal is to meet each student where they are, build upon their strengths, and help them develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and socially.
Parents, please ensure you encourage our GEMS, as I plan to work closely with all families through a positive atmosphere of communication and consistency!
