In 1989, Spirit Creek Middle School opened its doors to greet an eager student body full of potential.  The building design is consistent with the full implementation of the middle school philosophy.  Located on 30 acres of wooded land in southern Richmond County, the school is situated in an area of Augusta-Richmond County that is growing daily with apartment complexes; and other housing developments in order to promote stronger connections in the surrounding communities.  Consequently, our school proudly serves a diverse and transient population of students educated with a collaborative team philosophy that primarily emphasizes student growth and high levels of development through the CCRPI (College and Career Readiness Performance Index) protocols.

Additionally, our school is marked by a tradition of achievement and steadfastness in the face of new challenges, better academic opportunities, global changes, and growth in the overall learning community.  During the past fifteen years, Spirit Creek Middle School has seen several of its change agents promoted into administrative positions.  Furthermore, our school was honored as a Georgia School of Excellence in 1993 and received a "Pay for Performance Grant" in 1999.  Toward this end, Spirit Creek Middle School maintains its mission to educate students to become self-sufficient adults who contribute to their local and global community.
