Greetings!!

I am Ms. Sowell,  a 7th grade ELA teacher at Murphey Middle School. I am a product of the Richmond County School System having attended Meadowbrook Elementary, Morgan Road Middle School, and Glenn Hills High School.  I received my B.A. Degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Electronic Media from The Unsinkable Albany State University in the Fall of 2006. Years later, I received a Masters in the Art of Teaching Degree from Augusta University in the Fall of 2021. 

Before teaching, my career was in broadcast news in both Albany and Augusta, and a  production assistant at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.  I have been a teacher in the Richmond County School System for 9 years. 

FUN FACT: I am a mother of three and my mother was a teacher for 30 years!!

I'm not sure if I will be as fortunate as she and follow in her footsteps,  but on my journey,  it is my hope to inspire our children to excel and reach all of their educational and lifetime goals!
