Dear Parents and Guardians,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. M. Bradley. I have been employed with the Richmond County Board of Education since 1989. I began my career as a Paraprofessional at the Richmond County Alternative Center. I began teaching English/ Language Arts in 1993 at Laney High School. Since then, I have taught at the Richmond County Alternative Center and Glenn Hills High School. In 2007-2008, I began a new and exciting career as a Professional School Counselor at Butler High School. Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, I became an elementary school counselor at Lamar- Milledge Elementary.
As the counselor in the building, I am very excited to work with you and your child throughout the 2020-21 school year! If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year in which I may support your child, please don't hesitate to contact me. If you're unsure about what a counselor does, here are some highlights:What does a School Counselor do? Some of the School Counselor's activities include:* Conduct Classroom guidance lessons* Individual student meetings and small group meetings as needed* Support students' emotional, psychological, and academic needs* Talks with parents, teachers, and community supports* Attends meetings* Duties throughout the school day i.e. AttendanceHow does my child get to see the Counselor?* Teacher, parent, principal, or student request* Students may leave a message for me in my mailbox in the Front Office* Parents/Guardians - feel free to call or email meWhen does my child need to see the Counselor?* To share good news....* When having problems with a friend, home, etc. that may be difficult to cope with* When a problem is making it hard to focus in the classroom* When your child needs to express feelingsI look forward to meeting you and working with your child this school year.With Sincerest Regards,Mrs. M.
