• Welcome!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Lucy Craft Laney High School, where we continue to Work Hard, Ignite Purpose, and Never Quit!  We look forward to seeing all our returning students and want to extend a very special welcome to our new students who will be joining the Laney community for the first time.

Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Successful student learning thrives with open communication and an active parent-teacher-school partnership. It is our sincere hope that we will continue to be collaborative partners in assisting our students to W.I.N. this school year.

The state of Georgia adopted new mathematics standards in 2023 for all grade levels.  These standards are designed in a way to help students master not only the content but become master problem solvers so that they are prepared for the jobs of tomorrow that we don't even know exist.  In an ever-changing post-pandemic technology focused digital world these are the skills necessary to be successful.  This may sound intimidating at first, but with a willing spirit, together we will W.I.N.!

It is important to keep the lines of communication open between home and school so that together we can ensure a productive, safe, and academically challenging learning environment for all students at Laney.

We will be utilizing The Remind App this year for student and parent communication.  Please make sure you and your parents/guardians are signed up for the app to receive extra credit. Join me in the app

In the unlikely event, RCSS deems it necessary to go forward with any unscheduled learn-at-home days, I will communicate work plans with you via The Remind App.

Also, we will continue to use the resources and platforms available to complete assigned work.   All evidence of your work will have to be submitted through Canvas.  Lesson plans will be posted here and in Canvas with links to your notes and resources for the unit.

As always, thank you for trusting us with your children and their education! We greatly value and appreciate the trust placed in us!
