Course Description
Literature & Composition I is the first course (required) in the sequence of secondary English language arts courses required for graduation. This course develops the integrated skill set that comprises the English language arts discipline to ensure that students are on track to be college and work-ready. Literature & Composition I focuses on the interpretation, evaluation, construction, and design of texts across genres and modes in a variety of real-world, academic, and disciplinary contexts while sustaining and building mastery of language applications and discipline-specific practices.

Policies
Classroom Expectations: The discipline policy of the Richmond County School System will be followed. I will not accept any class disruptions, disrespect towards myself or others in the class.
1 st Offense: Verbal warning
2 nd Offense: Teacher – student mini-conference
3 rd Offense: Verbal warning and parent/guardian contact
4 th Offense: Guidance/ Administration referral
Missed Assignments/tests: If you are absent from class, no matter why, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to see me for notes, assignments, etc. on your own time, not during class time, unless something you need from me is required that day for class. Also, if you miss a test or quiz on that day, it is your responsibility to make an after-school appointment with me to make it up-in five days.
Late Work Policy: -After 14 days=0% (unless excused absence)

-A average (90+)
