Hello! Welcome to Mrs. Howard's Hollow. My name is Mrs. Howard (Reeder is my maiden name) and I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher this year. This will be my 4th year teaching. I love all things bright and colorful!
I am from Moses Lake, Washington but have lived in Evans, Georgia for 5 years. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter. I do not have any pets although I would love to have a hedgehog. I also am an avid Scouts BSA member and go camping as often as possible. I chose to become a teacher because I love being able to help children understand the world around them. My favorite quote comes from Dr. Seuss "Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you." I want my students to leave my classroom knowing they are important and loved.
I believe so much of learning comes from hands on experience. In my classroom it is ok to make mistakes, but it is not ok to not try. My goal is for every student to feel comfortable enough to be wrong and strong enough to push through and get it right. I love to sing and dance when teaching. It is not fun to sit in a desk or chair all day. I know there is so much anxiety about Covid-19, but I hope my classroom can be an escape for the students during the day. Even with social distancing, I plan to make sure the students can make friends and have fun!
