Hello My Wonderful Student!
It is so nice to serve as your English Language Arts (ELA) teacher this year! ! My name is Mrs. Douglass (Mrs. D.), and this is my 10th year teaching, so I have been blessed with the privilege of helping you on your academic journey toward graduation and beyond! I am excited to partner with you, so that you can have the support you need to reach your educational goals. It's important that you know that I care about you, and I am here to help you.
I attended a four-year college called Augusta University. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a Journalism Track and a minor in English. Then I earned a Masters Degree in Information Technology. I have also studied business and marketing extensively on the graduate level, earning 90 graduate hours toward an MBA.
As a young person, reading and writing transported me to other times, people and places. It helped me to understand myself and others. I am in love with Literature! We are all made of stories! Our lives are testimonies that should be expressed creatively and shared with others to increase understanding.
I hope that you find your passion for reading and writing in my class. This is a journey that we get to take together, and I am super excited to learn about you.
Remember that I am here to help you; but, one important action that you must take in order for this to work is for you to communicate with me. If you need help with the assignments, let me know. If you have to be absent, let me know. If you have any issues......YES!.....let me know.
I am here for you. I want you to succeed. I'm your number 1 fan.
