I am excited to be your child’s First grade teacher. My name is Mrs. Sharon Forrest. I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, daily conduct grades, progress reports, nine week report cards, and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to call me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can call me at school (706-796-4985), send me a note, or email me at Forresh@richmond.k12.ga.us. I will get back with you as soon as possible.
Please know that school attendance is very important and crucial to learning. However if your child needs to be out due to illness or other appointments, please remember to send in a doctor’s note so that the absence will be excused.
Conduct: Daily numeric conduct grades will be given. Students need to practice self-control to get through a rigorous second grade school year. We will be learning so many things at such a fast pace. I need their full attention and participation in order for them to do their best job. Therefore, I will be fair but strict in what I expect out of them. With that being said, I intend to make learning fun for students too. I know that you want your child to make the best grades possible, and I look forward to having you back me up by supporting our behavior plan in class. Please sign their conduct calendar daily! J
If your child will be going home a different way than they usually go home (such as they usually ride the bus and today you want them to be a car rider) please send a note.)
Finally, I am looking forward to a terrific school year!
