Principal's Message

  • Dear Deer Chase Elementary School Family,

It is indeed an honor to serve as principal of Deer Chase Elementary School.  I am elated to be on such a phenomenal school community and team.  I am excited about leading the team here at Deer Chase.  We will prepare our students academically, socially and emotionally. In order for that to occur it is imperative that we build a partnership.  I believe in the old adage, “It takes a village to raise a child.”  I realize that children benefit greatly when parents/guardians take an active role in their child’s education.  I feel that all parents want the best for their child; therefore, I am committed to establishing a partnership with all stakeholders.  I know building relationships is paramount to the success of any organization and I plan to build strong relationships with all of you.

I want all of you to know that our children’s safety and instructional concerns are first and foremost with me.  Although, I am eager to address all concerns, there are times during the day that I will not be available.  A couple of examples are during arrival (first 45 minutes of the day) and during dismissal (the last 30 minutes of the day).  During those times it is imperative that I am totally focused on our children.  Please, understand I will spend the majority of my time in the building supporting teachers, observing classes, monitoring hallways and the lunchroom, in general ensuring our students are learning.  Therefore, unless you schedule an appointment, there may be a wait for me, but do know I want to listen and to address your concerns.  Also be ensured that all decisions will be made in the best interest of children.

Finally, I realize you are entrusting your most precious possessions to me and I ensure you I will take care of them as if they were my own children.  Again, I am truly honored for the opportunity to serve as your principal and look forward to building many lasting relationships. Thank you and I look forward to an outstanding year!
