Student Council Members - 4th grade virtual, 4th grade face to face, and 5th grade virtual students are nominated by their classroom teachers to serve as the Student Council Classroom representative.
Student Council Officers - 5th grade face to face teachers will hold a class election and/or nominate students based on the criteria below and their interests. The positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The students must meet the following criteria:
Must have at least a “C” average in all academic classes
Must have good conduct grades with at least a “B” average or better
Must not have any discipline referrals this school year
Must have a positive attitude
Must demonstrate leadership skills
Students nominated to run for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer position will return a signed permission slip from their parents and begin working on their speech and poster. The posters and speeches should be turned in not later than Friday, October 30, 2020.
5th Grade Candidates
November 2nd
Dress for success during campaign week. Do not bring any other campaign ad materials to pass out for students. You will only need to create one poster and prepare your speech. Candy, flyers, buttons, etc. are prohibited.
November 3rd
Election Day
All grade levels will have the option to vote for the Student Council Officers. Any student that is not selected by the student body for the office of their choice will serve as a Student Council Member. The campaign winners will be announced during the afternoon announcements.
November 6th
First Student Council Meeting at 12:00 p.m.
Virtual Students will be sent a link to meet using Microsoft Teams.
4th and 5th Grade Face to Face students will meet during their lunch period.
