• The purpose of the Young Georgia Author Competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes and to recognize student achievement in the arts and academics.

    You can submit personal narratives, poetry, short stories, essays, journalism, or any other original works. 


    Entry Rules:

    • No more than 1900 words
    • Do not include a cover sheet or decorate your work in any way
    • Use paper clips, not staples, to attach your writing to the entry form
    • Only use one side of the page
    • No name or identifying information on your actual writing, only on the entry form
    • Double space with one-inch margins
    • Only use Times New Roman font size 12
